Kersh worked with the Royal Army Service Corps on Gold Beach during the D Day campaign. On 06 June 2024, commemorative events will take place in Normandy, northern France, to mark the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings, which marked the beginning of the end of World War II (WWII) in Europe.
